Women's Beauty and Wellness

When females experience puberty, pregnancy and menopause, their skin and physique will experience different problems. Based on the characteristics displayed during different stages, we have to grasp three important time frames, that is: puberty, the fertile period and menopause, adopting different ways of therapy in order to achieve good skin, a slim figure, maintain good health and prevent illnesses.

Maintenance of Skin and Breasts during Puberty
Upon reaching puberty, the hormone secretion increases, the sebaceous glands secretion is also active, causing the pores to be blocked, leading to acne, folliculitis and other skin related illnesses. Therefore the focus is on skin maintenance.
Skin Maintenance during Puberty Cleansing, Oil Control and Moisturising: Because we use cleansing products 2 - 3 times a day, the choice of skin care should not only have moisturising properties, but should also control the secretion of oil. Products containing pumpkin seed oil have oil-controlling and moisturising properties, which are usually in the form of gel and emulsion.
Sun Protection: Singapore's weather is hot and the ultraviolet rays are very strong. Therefore, sun screen products of at least SPF 3O and above should be used before engaging in any outdoor activities, to minimise the harm caused to the skin.
Maintenance During menstruation: The skin condition is directly affected by the menstrual cycle. Therefore, one should keep warm, abstain from huge quantities of spicy and cold food and drinks, not overwork or stay up during the night and adopt a light yet nutritious diet.
The most Ideal Period to Nourish the Skin: One week after the menstrual cycle, skin metabolism is at its fastest and has the highest absorption rate. During this time, using Chinese herb therapy, skin care, acupuncture, massaging the skin based on acupunctural points would achieve the best results, be it eliminating acne or achieving whitening effect.

Puberty Stage Diet Therapy:

  • Acne Dispelling Floral Tea: 8 pcs chrysanthemum 2 jasmine flowers, 6 globe amaranth flowers. Pour boiling water and soak, drink as tea.
  • Seaweed, Mung Beans and Chinese Barley Porridge: 9 g seaweed, 9 g kelp, 9 g sweet almond, 20 g mung beans, 30 g Chinese barley. Cook as porridge, consume once a day for three weeks as 1 course of treatment.
